Define Course Outcomes (COs)

For each course, 4-7 well-defined, measurable Course Outcomes are established using action verbs from Bloom's Taxonomy, describing what students should know and be able to do after completing the course.

Map COs to Program Outcomes (POs)

Each CO is then mapped to the relevant Program Outcomes (POs) defined by the NBA, typically on a scale of 0 to 3 (with 3 indicating a strong correlation). This mapping is often documented in a Course Articulation Matrix (CAM).

Align Teaching and Assessment

CO-PO mapping guides the design of curriculum, teaching methodologies, and assessment strategies to ensure they directly contribute to achieving the desired POs. Questions in examinations are also mapped to COs and POs to assess student performance against these outcomes.

Assess CO Attainment

Student performance in internal assessments and end-of-semester examinations is used to determine the attainment level of each CO. This data is then used to calculate the attainment level of the corresponding POs.
